1. Layer Like a Pro
Acrylic markers work best when applied in thin layers. Start with light colors and gradually build up to darker shades. Let each layer dry completely (2-3 minutes) to avoid smudging.
2. Mix Colors Directly
Blend colors on a palette or even on your artwork! Acrylic ink stays workable for a short time, so experiment with gradients and textures while wet.
3. Control the Flow
Shake the marker well before use and press the tip gently on scrap paper to start the ink flow. Adjust pressure for thicker or thinner lines.
4. Fix Mistakes
Made a slip? Let the ink dry, then paint over it with white acrylic marker or use a damp cloth to wipe errors off non-porous surfaces.
5. Experiment with Surfaces
Try decorating shoes, phone cases, or ceramic mugs! Prime porous surfaces with gesso first for smoother application.
